Children and youth play a vital part of the life of Covenant Glen. We believe there is no greater investment than in the spiritual well being of tomorrow's leaders. Our children and youth department ministers to children nursery ages 3 months to young adults ages 28.

Wee Disciples Ministry 
WD is our children's ministry targeted for potty trained two-year-old to 5th graders. To learn more about the Wee Disciples contact Doris Childress at doris-e@sbcglobal.net.

Urban Spirit

FLOCK (Young Adult Ministry)

60 Minutes Christian Education
Christian Education is how individuals develop their relationship with Christ.  It provides the foundation, understanding, and support to continue in the Christian journey as well as aides each person in growing and developing as stronger Christians.  Covenant Glen's 60 minute, Christian Education program, includes traditional Sunday school classes including marriage, cultural awareness and children and youth. Army is the men's ministry of Covenant Glen. The group ministers to men ages 18 to senior adults and stand ready to Liberate and Empower them through Gods word to be leaders in the home, work place, and community. The men  meet for an informative Bible Study, food and fun for all ages on the second Monday of each month with special events throughout the year. Click here for what's happening now! CGUMC Women-  helping sisters be their best spiritual self is the mission of CGUMC Women.  This ministry builds sisterly bonds by meeting the practical and spiritual needs of women in an ever changing world. UMW seeks to empower women in our local and global communities through the word of God, Worship and community outreach. The United Methodist Women's ministry meets the second Thursday of every month providing dinner, bible discussions, tips on becoming physically and mentally whole. ONE FLESH

ONE Flesh Marriage Ministry is a ministry that provides encouragement to married couples at Covenant Glen. One Flesh  meets for a fall and spring marriage encounter class Sundays at 9 am. The group plans marriage celebrations monthly on 4th Sundays and marriage events to keep the love alive throughout the year. For more information on classes contact Rev. Joyful Hearts Senior Adults

The missions and outreach ministries at Covenant Glen cover a wide gamete of opportunities to serve our local and global communities.

CanCare

Ministry's mission is to provide resources and information for individuals currently battling cancer, survivors of cancer and caregivers of cancer patients. The goal of the ministry is to provide resources about preventative methods for cancer and early detection, distinguish between the myths and facts of cancer, and provide a forum for sharing concerns. This ministry hopes to create an environment conducive to alleviating anxiety and fears of cancer. For more information please contact the church office at 346-304-2432.

Southwest Glen Mission 

SWGM is a 501( c )3 organization that brings ministry to local underserved children and families in apartment complexes.  SWGM provides afterschool tutoring, Christian education and worship, summer camp, and summer food program. Broken Shackles (Prison Ministry)

The prison ministry is designed to counsel and mentor incarcerated men in the local correctional system. The mentoring process begins while the mentee is still incarcerated. Upon being released our mentors are available to help the mentee get assimilated into society. This ministry meets on Tuesdays at 7pm. For more information please contact 346-304-2432.

CG Food Pantry  

In  partnership with the community, businesses, schools, and the Houston Food bank the pantry provides food for over 1000 individuals per month .  The pantry distributes food every first and third weekend of the month. Holiday baskets are distributed for Christmas and Thanksgiving.  The pantry also works with CG Toy Drive giving toys to clients for Christmas. Missions Abroad 

Serves our friends in Mexico with our Rice and Beans program. The team travels to Mexico providing food, clothing, medical supplies, and Christian literature. For more information contact Corliss Walker at 346-304-2432.
 

 
The Higher Education Ministry 

Covenant Glen serves as the hub of helping youth and adults attain their educational goals. The purpose of the higher education ministry is to assist members to pursue higher levels of education beyond high school. The ministry promotes tutoring, registration and preparation for standardized testing, financial aid education and application, scholarship assistance and help in finding the right program fit for your needs. The program offers vocational and adult learning programs as alternatives to the traditional college path. SMART

The employee Bank at Covenant Glen serves as a hub where members and non members can find out about job openings via an employee newsletter. This ministry hosts an annual career fair, resume writing workshops and networking events. Covenant Glen is committed to community outreach. We believe one of the most effective ways to impact our surrounding area is through collaborations. We partner with the following organizations to achieve our dual goals and missions.

East Fort Bend Human Needs Ministry
This is a project located less than 5 miles from the church campus; this organization houses a food pantry, resale shop and provides rental and utility assistance to local residents. Our partnership with this ministry includes conducting monthly food and material drives for whatever the need is (ie blankets in the winter, peanut butter in the summer, etc).This ministry has opportunities for volunteers to work in the food pantry, assist with screening applicants for food help etc., and assist with the resale shop. Fort Bend Family Promise

FBFP is an organization that helps house displaced families with in Fort Bend County. This is achieved through a network of churches taking care of the families one week at time once a quarter. The time the families are assigned to Covenant Glen we house them on the church campus, provide meals, entertainment, and spiritual enrichment. Worship is vital to the life of any Christian, providing an opportunity corporately for Christians to come together to worship and praise God.  There are various ministries working to enhance worship services, which provide opportunities for members to get involved in worship.

Altar Guild Ministry is the assisting ministry to the Pastor with the communion, baptisms, and sacraments of the church. The team also prepares for each season on the Christian calendar with the adornment of the altar. Odie Poindexter is the ministry contact.

Greeters Ministry is our HAPPY group. This ministry serves as the official welcome team to everyone that enters the doors of Covenant Glen. These members help operate the welcome center where you'll find information on events and ministries. Deloris Maxwell is the ministry contact .

Ushers Ministry manages the internal flow of serves by aiding members and visitors with eating and facility logistics. The team also helps with the service of tithes and offering . Sharon Pearson is the ministry contact.

Parking Lot Ministry is your first official welcoming team at Covenant Glen as they help with  parking and maintaining  safe traffic practices on the campus. The group is available to help those with mobility challenges to get to and from the car to the worship center.  And they are a great help on rainy days.

The Hall Monitors Ministry goal is to make sure the church hallways are secured and safe. We strive to have our members serve at least one service once a month. To volunteer for this ministry please contact Lee Hopes @ 281 778 8581.
 
Praise Dance Ministry's goal is to praise God through dance. To become a part of this dynamic ministry please contact the church office at 346-304-2432.


Covenant Glen Music Ministry works to enhance the worship experience through song.  There are choir opportunities for children, youth, adults, men and women.

The Audio/Visual Ministry creates the media packages that enhances the worship experience. Volunteers have the opportunity to work with professionals on camera, in the control room and with audio. For more information contact Cierra Duncan at 346-304-2432.

Liberation Project

The Liberation Project, Inc. is an independent 501(c)3 non-profit organization providing community programming to the Harris and Fort Bend Counties of Houston, Texas.  The Project provides targeted programs to children and youth including a prevention and intervention program to thwart off potential negative draws, such as drugs, gang violence and other peer pressure, that plague today's youth.  We strive to also renew families through education, counseling, and personal development programs 
 
The Liberation Project, along with local partnerships, built  the Glen Park housing development -- a 113-home subdivision providing affordable housing to lower income families.  Additionally, Covenant Glen and the Liberation Project embarked on the major project for liberating and empowering families through the Liberation Life Center that opened in February 2006
 
The life center includes items and programs such as:


  • Children and youth after-school, prevention and intervention programs
  • Counseling and social services including marriage counseling, HIV/AIDS education and testing, and home-buyers programs
  • Health and wellness programs and exercise opportunities at the gymnasium
The Liberation Project offers exciting opportunities for members of Covenant Glen and the surrounding community.  These programs and educational services empower the  areas of Harris and Fort Bend Counties.
