Rev. Dr. Tyrone Jackson, Jr. is an anointed, uniquely gifted and powerful preacher, teacher and leader who is dedicated to the cause of Christ with a great concern for the welfare of humanity.A native of New Orleans, Louisiana, he is the only child born to Tyrone Jackson, Sr. and Winnifred G. Hagans Jackson. In 1987, he and his mother relocated to Petersburg, Virginia, where he was educated in the Petersburg Public School System, graduating from Petersburg High School in 1997. Rev. Jackson believing in higher education, went to further his education at John Tyler Community College, Chester, Virginia, receiving an Associates Degree of Applied Science in Mortuary Science in 2001.

While attending John Tyler Community College, he began his employment as a Funeral Director Trainee at Tucker's Funeral Home in Petersburg, Virginia. In his quest for higher education, Rev. Jackson went on to receive a Bachelor of Theology degree in 2003 from Richmond Virginia Seminary, Richmond, Virginia, a Master's of Divinity from Virginia Union University Samuel Dewitt Proctor School of Theology, Richmond, Virginia in May 2009 and is currently enrolled in the Doctoral Program at United Theology Seminary, in Dayton, Ohio, pursing his Doctoral Degree. In June of 2015, Rev. Jackson received the Honorary Degree, Doctor of Humane Letters from The Richmond Virginia Seminary.

Rev. Jackson was called to preach the Gospel of Jesus Christ in 1997. He was licensed on February 13, 2000 at Trinity Baptist Church, Petersburg, Va. under the leadership of Rev. Jeffery L. Dodson, Sr. and ordained on March 9, 2002 at Olive Branch Baptist Church, Dinnwiddie, Va. under the leadership of Rev. Dr. Alfred L. Thompson.

He accepted his first Pastorate at Wilborne Baptist Church, Waverly, VA., in April 2003. Upon this union a dynamic duo was formed. Pastor Jackson was united in holy matrimony on August 9, 2003 to the former Jonette D. Merriweather, who was serving as the musician in ministry. They currently reside in Hopewell, Virginia. Pastor Jackson is a member of Olive Branch Baptist Church, Dinnwiddie, VA., his Pastor is the Rev. Kevin Northam, his Father in the Ministry is the Rev. Dr. Alfred L. Thompson and his Mother in the Ministry is the Rev. Deborah K. Coleman.

In addition to being a faithful man of God, Pastor Jackson is formerly employed by Tucker's Funeral Home and the Petersburg Sheriff Department, Petersburg, VA. He believes in building strong and safe communities and is very active in the Tri-City area. Pastor Jackson is the founder of Partners in Christ, a ministry that provides volunteer services, educational assistance for continuing students, and most importantly, teaches the Word of God.

In August 2008, Pastor Jackson became the proud and esteemed Pastor of the First Baptist Church Campostella (FBCC), Norfolk, Virginia. Under his leadership, he has added a number of Ministers in Training (MIT), a number of Deacons, Deaconesses and Trustees to the Ministry, created a new Church at Work staff position and restructured the Administration staff, Kitchen Ministry and Youth/Young Adult Ministry. Under his leadership motto, "Doing It God's Way - We are A Godly Church, A Giving Church, and A Growing Church", the church has witnessed tremendous increase in membership and ministries. Pastor Jackson was instrumental in bringing our church up to the 21st century in technology. He has implemented a web page for FBCC, which exemplifies his God-given vision and our mission statement.

In November 2009, Pastor Jackson continues to put FBCC on the map by hosting and promoting a "Stop the Violence" rally in our community. He continues to uplift and build the Kingdom of God with various other progressing church projects.

Among his many obligations, he serves as the 2nd Vice Moderator of the Tidewater Peninsula Baptist Association, a member of the Tidewater Minister's Conference, the Virginia Baptist State Convention, the Baptist General Convention, the National Baptist Convention U.S.A, the Global United Fellowship and former pass Moderator of the Old Dominion Baptist Association.

He has a genuine passion for teaching the Word of God. It is Pastor Jackson's belief that he can do all things through Christ and with God all things are possible. His words to live by: "Just trust and believe, and it will come to pass."
