Our Executive Pastor
The Reverend Michael C. Bell is a native of Fayetteville, North Carolina. Currently he serves bi-vocationally as the Executive Pastor of Peace Baptist Church in Northeast, Washington, D.C. and as a Chaplin with the United States Army. Michael is completing the Master of Arts program at Howard University School of Divinity; concentrating in Biblical studies and languages. He is actively working his M.A. thesis work entitled, "Lady Sings the Blues: A Post-colonialist Afterthought Regarding Womanist Approaches to the Slave Narrative of Hagar" under the guidance of Dr. Cheryl Sanders. Michael received his Master of Divinity degree from the Samuel DeWitt Proctor School of Theology at Virginia Union University in 2005, and Master certificate in Muslim-Christian Studies from the Washington Theological Consortium through Howard University School of Divinity in 2014. Believing that study is synonymous with worship, Michael has continuously engaged opportunities of independent study through Evans-Smith Leadership Institute, Princeton Theological Seminary's Institute for Youth Ministry Master Certificate Program in Youth Theology, and various learning and instructional programs after his matriculation through undergraduate studies, also at Virginia Union University. Michael is inspired and supported to love and serve others through the loving partnership and priority of his life by his wife, Robin and four children, Mychael, Matthew, Chandler and Sion. |
