Our Ministries

Music Ministry

The Mount Carmel Missionary Baptist Church Music Ministry will, as one body unified in spirit and with a heart of purity, purpose to glorify God, to humbly serve Him in a spirit of excellence as ministers of music, hope, agape love. To lead others into His divine presence through thanksgiving, praise and worship and to inspire, encourage, train and direct those whom God has called into the Music Ministry with a spirit of service, excellence, sensitivity, purity, humility and strength.

Noon Day Prayer Ministry

The mission of the Noon Day Prayer Ministry is to seek God's face and to ask for:
  • divine guidance and intervention
  • wisdom, grace and mercy
  • power and strength in matters according to His will
  • plan and purpose for Mt Carmel, the community, individually and collectively, as a unit

Saturday Academy

There is no reason we should have to stand by and wait for 'the State' to fix the education system before we can address the illiteracy problem in our schools. Join Saturday Academy @ Mt. Carmel Baptist Church in its effort to strengthen youth education in the community. Saturday Academy provides tutoring in reading and mathematics as well as educational field trips and activities for children from K-5 every Saturday from 11:00 a.m.-1:00 p.m.

Trustee Ministry

The purpose of the Trustee Ministry is to create short and long range plans for property care and improvements, to represent and act in the best interest of the membership to assure continuation and protection of the church's assets and make sound judgments with respect to property and financial investments.

Usher Ministry

The purpose of the Usher Ministry is to lead individuals into the atmosphere of the church service, introduce individuals to every practical expression of the church's mission and to the presence of the Almighty. The Usher Ministry will be friends who share in making the lonely feel cared for, the bereaved see hope, the sinner feel forgiveness, the discouraged feel cheered, the rich feel generous, the poor feel rich, and all feel enjoined to unselfish love for their neighbors!


Women's Empowerment Ministry

The purpose of the WEM is to meet the needs of other women through a system of support by relational affiliation centered around traditional biblical principals.

Our purpose is to:
  • EQUIP and ENRICH the lives of women and their families through Christ
  • ENABLE a woman to discover her God-given gifts for ministry, to search out the needs in her church and community, and match those needs with her gift of service.
  • LEAD women to accept Christ as Lord, to become women of deep prayer, and to become women who study the Bible and base their entire lives on the Word of God.
  • ENCOURAGE women of this church to bring un-churched and non-Christian women to a personal relationship with Christ and His church, disciple them, equip them to become disciples.
  • PROMOTE ministry that will equip women to reach out and meet the unique needs of other women in the name of Christ.
  • PROVIDE and serve Bible-based spiritual growth and discipleship resources, leadership training, and a structure of networking that will strengthen, enrich, and equip women to be more effective in service through ministries of their church.

Youth Ministry   

The purpose of the Youth Ministry is for the spiritual growth, training, fellowship and enrichment of the children and youth of Mt. Carmel. This ministry's main objective is to engage young people with Christ by providing study and fellowship opportunities through a variety of activities including: workshops/discussion groups, lock-ins, spiritual and educational trips, rights-of-passage programs for girls and boys, Hallelujah nights, Impact Fridays, Resurrection Egg Hunts, etc.
